(Using an old photo of myself for this intro post because early-morning humidity made me look like something the cat dragged in. Sorry, but not really, because if you wait on baited breath for new photos of me, that is pretty creepy.)

Hey, all. I passed a follower milestone last week, and amid all the crazy activity last night, realized that it’s been a while since I last properly introduced myself. So let’s get down to business, shall we?

• My name is Emma, and while I mostly go by @burtmacklin nowadays, previous usernames include @numberonejustintimberlakefan95, @kiphacklin, @faradaisy, and @emmadavey.
• Social justice is one of my biggest passions, and -isms, bigotry, and privilege come up a lot around these parts. While posts about sexism and ableism often reflect my own experiences as an anxiety-prone, cisgender female with Attention Deficit Disorder, posts about racism, heterosexism, classism, etc. are reblogged as much for my own education as for that of my followers.
• I used to use my Photoshop skills for ~good, but nowadays I mostly draw stick figures and illustrate the love that exists between me and Justin Timberlake. Like, I wouldn’t rule out more serious graphics entirely, but don’t follow me expecting to see your dash significantly beautified by quality original graphics, because I am too lazy for those.
• Comedy is a big interest and I could probably talk for days about how discovering stand-up in the sixth grade shaped my interest in culture and politics. I am in a two-person standom with @prydonian for my fave movie.
• I have normal media consumption habits by Tumblr standards, but in the real world, most people would say I watch too much television? The X-Files is my CLASSIC LOVE, but Parks and Rec and Doctor Who are my current televisual booty calls. I am also currently engaged in a half-rewatch, half-entirely new experience of Twin Peaks with my dad.
• I want to be a writer someday. This seems considerably difficult considering I find writing itself to be an excruciating, if ultimately satisfying process. BUT I LIKE THE IDEA OF IT?
• I stan aggressively for the people I follow and @thequietworld and I celebrated our one year anniversary of marriage last December.
